British Youth Championships: As well as identifying the London Region Champions for 2019 this Competition is the qualifying event for the British Youth Championships which will take place 4th-6th May 2019 at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

By entering this competition, the fencer, agrees, if he or she qualifies, to represent London Region at the BYCs. If a fencer who has qualified knows they will be unable to attend the BYCs please tell the organisers  immediately. Their place may then be offered to the next ranking fencer.   This does not apply after entries are submitted to BF

Entries: Entry through Sport80

Fencers must be affiliated to London Region

Entry Fee: £33 per fencer per weapon entered. Please note -refunds will only be issued after 2nd February in very exceptional circumstances. There will be no refunds after the closing date  Costs this year are higher because BF have increased the levy on each entry plus requiring Regions to provide 3 days refereeing.  £10 from each entry goes direct to BF.  London Region Fencing has absorbed the increase in refereeing cost but unfortunately have to pass the entry levy increase to competitiors
Late entries: Will only be accepted at the organiser’s discretion Late entries will be subject to a fee of £50 per fencer per weapon.
Bye’s: Any fencer who reached the last 8 in 2018 BYC may claim a bye to the 2019 BYC at the same weapon regardless of age group.(Under 10s with byes will need to have reached the appropriate age to enter Under 12s)  Any fencer claiming a bye MUST enter the LRYC but need not fence. Do you have a BYE?

BFA Membership: All fencers must be members of British Fencing and registered with London Region at the time of this event and at the time of the BYCs.
Qualification for BYC Finals: For every 3 fencers in a weapon per age group, 1 will qualify per 3 or part of 3 fencers competing. Even if only two fencers enter a particular weapon in an age group, both fencers should attend the Competition to compete.
