London BSC Junior Foil Tournament

The competition has been nominated by British Fencing as a Selection Event for Juniors and Cadets

DATE Sunday, 8th September 2013
  • Men: Check in is expected to open at 8:30 am and close at 9:00am.
  • Women: Check is expected to open at 12:30pm and close at 1:00pm

In both cases, fencing will commence as soon as possible after check in closes.  Check in times will be confirmed here nearer the date.

ELIGIBILITY The Tournament is a Junior foil Tournament and is therefore open to all male and female fencers who are under 20 on 1 January 2014 (born  on 1st January 1994 or later) but who are at least 13 years old on 1 January 2013. Fencers must also be members of British Fencing on the date of the Tournament. 
ENTRIES The entry fee is £25. Entry is online only 
PAYMENT By Cheque, Internet Banking or Paypal. Instructions will be sent with the entry confirmation email
CLOSING DATE Friday 30th August, 2013 provided the maximum number of entries has not been reached (90 Men, 60 Women). Late entries will only be accepted at the discretion of the organizers and upon payment of a double entry fee
FORMULA One round of pools, followed by direct elimination without repecharge. However, the organizers reserve the right to make such changes to the formula as they consider appropriate for the proper running of the competition
RULES The Tournament will be run in accordance with FIE Rules for Competitions and BFA Disciplinary Regulations. The Directoire Technique will decide, without appeal, all issues arising out of the interpretation of these rules and on all matters falling outside the Rules.
  • 350 Newton jacket and breeches
  • 800 Newton plastron
  • Mask with a conductive bib
VENUE The Tournament will be held at Brunel University Sports Centre,  Kingston Lane, Uxbridge.  UB8 3PH (not satnav friendly. Go to Kingston Lane)  Click here for a map
OTHER INFORMATION There will be limited changing facilities. Although no food or drink stands will be provided, the University has a café and there are other local shops. Free Parking is available at the University to the left inside the entrance from Kingston Lane

DISCLAIMER: The organisers, “London Region Fencing”, and its officers, can accept no responsibility for any loss of equipment/property, damage to persons or property.  Fencers must arm, equip and clothe themselves at their own responsibility and risk. The competition will use electric equipment throughout and be run by the direct elimination system and in accordance with BFA safety guidelines.  Clothing and equipment must conform to BFA rules.  Plastrons, breeches etc are obligatory.  Fencers failing to adhere to these rules will not be permitted to compete, nor will their fees be refunded.
