As you may have heard British Fencing has recently announced a great new all weapon national championship for intermediate fencers, the GB Cup. It will be run on similar lines to the British Youth Championships. Through qualifying competitions each Region will select 2 fencers from each weapon to represent them at the national final in Nottingham on 23rd June.
We think this is a very positive initiative by British Fencing to recognise the importance of fencing at intermediate level and we heartily endorse it. So, whilst some regions are using existing competitions for their selection process, we’re taking the opportunity to launch a new ‘London Region Intermediate Championship’ which will also act as our selection event.
