to all those next generation London fencers who between them yet again topped the tables at this year’s British Youth Championships in Sheffield.
On a simple medals count our team sat joint top with South Western Region at 15 apiece. But in the Regional Points Table London’s strength in depth shone through. And with 298 points we stood head and shoulders above the next four teams – South, South East, West Midlands and South West – with 226, 223, 221, and 218 points respectively.
So a huge well done to every one of the London young blades who took part. We look forward to watching you win again in future.
NEXT UP – THE CUP
In the meantime, and following the first ever London Intermediate Championships at the end of April, 18 of our best intermediate fencers will chart a course for Nottingham on 23 June to contest honours in BF’s new GB Cup. The question now is, can our intermediate fencers carry on the good work of our youth team? We’re confident they can – no pressure there then – and we wish them all the very best for an enjoyable and successful competition.
